ASME IMECE 2025: three talks, a travel award, and a Rising Star recognition

UCLID traveled to ASME IMECE 2025 with three talks, all on our thin-film and multiscale phase change work:
- “A Coupled Multiscale Study of Phase Change Dynamics at Curved Liquid-Vapor Interfaces”
- “Dynamic Measurement of Evaporating Liquid Films”
- “Multiscale Oscillations in Thin Liquid Films”
Together, these talks show where the thin-film program is heading: from steady models of an evaporating meniscus to dynamic models and measurements that capture oscillations, contact line motion, and the onset of instability.
Amirhosein received an NSF-sponsored travel award to attend and present, and was joined by labmates Unmeelan and Saaras.
At the same meeting, I was honored to be recognized as an ASME Rising Star of Mechanical Engineering. Thank you to my students, collaborators, and mentors who made this possible.
